V8 Modification Rules for Johns track
Hi guys with the release of the new FG Falcons this year and having most of the diffent types of V8's available to drive on my track i just want to let everyone know what mods i will allow on the different versions to try and keep the racing even. I have also removed the magnets from most of my cars and loosen body screws a little
FG Falcon: it will need weight added to help handling and the mods i will allow are Tyre upgrade Slot it Race Rubber or MJK no Silicones and must have original plastic Rims, Glueing of the bearings inside and out. No body modifications with the FG are not allowed as they are already low out of the box. No other mods whatsoever are allowed and must have standard Scaley or Pioneer 18000RPM motor
BA/BF Falcon: it will need weight added to help handling and the mods i will allow are Tyre upgrade Slot it Race Rubber or MJK no Silicones, i will also allow rim upgrades and even alloy Rims for the rear, Glueing of the bearings inside and out. Body lowering is allowed as long as it does'nt rub the track surface, and i would be ok with other small chassis mods to help it lower centre of gravity only. At the moment the motor must be a Scalextric or Pioneer 18000RPM motor
VY/VE Commodore: it will need weight added to help handling and the mods i will allow are Tyre upgrade Slot it Race Rubber or MJK no Silicones, i will also allow rim upgrades and even alloy Rims for the rear, Glueing of the bearings inside and out. Body lowering is allowed as long as it does'nt rub the track surface, and i would be ok with other small chassis mods to help it lower centre of gravity only. At the moment the motor must be a Scalextric or Pioneer 18000RPM motor
I dont wish to make guys spend much money on their cars as most of the non V8's slotcars i own don't need these mods to be good runners but the to make the V8's a little more enjoyable to drive on my track most of the mods mentioned above help to make it a very good car to drive as this is the main class that we run and as we get a little further on in the year and as guys get used to running on my track i will look at possibly running a monthy "Fun" Series with the V8 supercars over about 4-6 rounds. It is also a pain that we only have 2 liverys in the new FG but one of our members is already in the process of doing a different livery with some decals from Pattos so i look forward to seeing it rolling around the track
Cheers John
