Awesome Racemeet last night with our best turnout for a sprint round since the lockdown ended with 11 drivers. And the night did not dissapoint with it easily being the best sprint round since we have resumed with some fantastic racing in both classes. We started the night with the Muscle Cars and from the get go qualifying sprung up some surprising results which were well deserved and the heats were hard with these cars starting to get closer as we develop them more. The Finals were easily the best so far we have seen this season with the Muscle Cars with the A-Final being close over the whole field for the majority of the race. But Ryan Bull was too good in the end getting the Torana on the top step for its first time was a fantasic drive. 2nd was Sharon Douglas who drove fantasic all night in the Muscle cars after she got Top Qualifier earlier and backed it up with some good heats she certainly gave it to Ryan in the Final but like any digital racing you need to ride your luck and a few incidents at the wrong time ended any chances of a win which i dont think is too far away. 3rd went to probably the most consistent driver since the resumption of racing Steve Dalton with another great drive. With 7 secs covering the Top 4 cars after 60 laps and to be only 4 rounds into their first season gives us plenty of hope of how good these cars will be in a season or 2 time as we get all the cars as closely matched as possible, like we do now with the Slotworx cars and the Slotworx cars werent exactly fantastic when we ran them in their first season but now we have got them that dialled in we cant get enough of them lol.
Slotworx Porsche finished the night off and it was probably the best round of Porsche's ive seen since we have introduced them here at NBS, Qualifying was tight for those that did not ruin there 2 lap hotlap and while the first heat was pretty messy it improved hugely from there with some great heats to finish it off then a mega B-Final where all 6 cars were in with a shot of a transfer to the mid point of the race until Mick n Shaz dropped off with a few mistakes but the remaining 4 duked it out till the final lap with Allan and Dan making the Transfers. The A-Final was mega with the Top 4 in a never ending battle the whole race (was 0.3 of a sec between the top 3 cars with 5 laps to go). But in the end Steve Dalton broke through for a much deserved win holding off the the hard charging Ryan Bull and 3rd went to John Schultz. Shoutout also to Eugene doing a excellent job for his first ever racemeet and first ever slot car experience and Dan also at his 2nd racemeet with us but show his previous Analog racing experience as he is pretty much on the pace already and will be one to watch for a podium very soon. Thanks also to the rest of the guys who came to make it such a fun night
