Fun night again last Friday with a smaller crowd on hand with only 9 drivers taking the field, but the racing was fantastic. The night started out with Slotworx Porsche's and they were great fun with some good heats and and some great finals, but after a motor and chip change completed 5 min before qualifying, Sandman proved untouchable and took out the A-Final with a great drive. 2nd and backing up his good form from last round was Steve who pushed Sandman all the way. And in 3rd for the first of his 2 podiums for the night was Dan.
2nd Part of the night saw the Lexan GT3 cars in action again and boy were they fantastic from the moment qualifying started. Top 5 in qualifying all got 7.7 sec laps while Sandman who qualified 8th with a 7.8sec lap showed that this was going to be an epic racemeet. The heats were awesome and the B-Final was just as great but we did see probably the best A-Final this year and probably the best since Covid started. IT was on for young and old with all 6 cars covered by 6 seconds after the first 30 laps was making the marshalling hard as you just wanted to watch the battles. In the end though we saw a first time winner in Dan who drove a fantastic race to hold out from Allan in 2nd and Ryan rounded out the podium in 3rd. Our next racemeet is in 2 weeks time, unfortunately it does fall on Good Friday so i expect a few to be missing from the night but we will still push ahead and run the night and will probably look at possibly starting an hour earlier aswell being its a public holiday. Also we will be looking to pick out the teams for the Moby 900 next racemeet as that is now 1 month away, so if you wont be in attendance next racemeet but definately want to participate in the Moby 900 the following fortnight please let me know before next racemeet so i can add you name to the drivers who will get picked out in teams. Next racemeet is also an all Slotworx night with V8's and Porsches.
