Very fun racenight last Friday night for our first unrestricted night in a while and while we were missing a couple of regulars we still had 10 drivers take to the track for the nights racing. First up were the Porsches and while a small car glitch hindered the guys in heats 1 and 3 the other 2 heats were bloody fantastic with some epic races that went down to the last lap. The glitch was rectified by the finals and were saw a great B-Final. The A-Final was great up front but Car issues hurt Sean who had 2 fantasic heats only to be let down in the final which was a shame for him. But up front Sandman was too good coming from the B-Final and made the most of others misfortune on the track and shot off with the victory. John tried his best after a crash early in the race setback his charge but finished off nicely with 2nd and followed not far behind was the consistent Ryan. 2nd part of the night was highly anticipated as it would be the first time we would see one of our 3D Printed bodies mixing it up against 9 other Scalextric/Revell Monogram bodies and it did not dissapoint with it already on par with the fastest Scalextric bodied cars in the field and with more tweaking to come its perfomance can only get better (although it could have won last nite if the driver didnt make silly errors lol). But the most important part for me was to see it cop a few decent hits and if you dont already know we race digital here so big hits do happen from time to time lol. But after doing alot of laps in practice, 2 heats and both the B and A finals it looks just as good as before it hit the track, which gives me even more incentive to keep pumping out more different bodies. Back to the racing, the heats in muscle cars were absolutely fantastic with pretty much all the cars involved in big pack racing during some stages of their heats and some friendly bump drafting to go with it. The Finals were just as good with only the A-Final being let down by a couple of car failures. Sandman again took out his 2nd A-Final for the night with some clean driving he scooted from the field, while Steve in the "Whistling Dixie" XB came from near last at one stage to fightback for 2nd and John had a few silly moments but recovered to bring the big XD back into 3rd place getting the 3d printed body a podium on debut. Bring on next fortnight where we have Slotworx V8's and 1/32 Muscle cars.
