Last Friday saw 10 drivers take to Rd1 of the V8 series. The racing up front was tight right from qualifying. But its the finals where it all counts, the A-Final was a pretty decent race with most of the guys going at it for most of the race, but in the last half Chainsaw got some good clear air and clean run to take out a solid win in Round 1. John followed Chainsaw home in 2nd place while Dan has found some pace with his V8 to bring it home in 3rd. 2nd part of the night saw GT3 cars hit the track and as usual they put on some really great racing. Sandman but was in a league of his own in the final and streaked away from the guys to take the win and make it 2 from 2 in GT3. 2nd place was Steve who tried his best to keep Sandman honest, while 3rd place went to Dan who finally got to use his own chassis again. Also after racing on Friday a few of us hung around and had some discussion on helping improve the experience for everyone at racemeets, im not saying its currently bad either but we have used the same format for years and we would like to tweak them a bit, so from next fortnight we will be looking at splitting Drivers off into A and B Grade as we have alot of new racers atm and think it would make it easier for them while getting up to speed without the pressures of racing in the same races as the guys/girls that have been doing it for years. There will also be seperate pointscores for both grades so the B-Graders have something that they can compete for. I will update all the current points for all classes over the coming week or so. Next week will see the return of Nascars and Porsche Cup to finish the night.
