The Moby 900 was run and won yesterday. Was a pretty close race most of the way for the top 3 teams with some minor issues playing their part in the outcome and the 3 all having some time in the lead. But The Old Bastards (Moby, Gumtree and John) sustained the mid race pressure to lead most of the race and take away the victory. Moby and Gumtree were fantastic and did most of the hard work early and made it an easy race for myself. The cars was on rails the whole race and kinda felt guilty how easy it was to drive. 2nd Place went to DD'S (Dan, Chainsaw and Scott) who were down the back early but came back strong to almost take the win but had a lead wire failure cruel that attempt in the final hour. 3rd went to The Nobodies (Tristan, Sean and Lee) These guys were the pace setters early but a loose chip caused a sensor wire to come loose and cost them roughly 25 laps, probably would have been very close to a win for these guys without that issue but thats racing. 4th went to Brake for Noone (Mick,Eddie,Drew and Ben). These guys had the hard luck story of the race with what was seem like car handling issues which turned out to be a dodgy controller, once replaced these guys were more competitive but at 100 laps down was always going to be tough to recover, but they did not complain and all 4 guys toughed it out to the end which was great to see.
I would also like to say thankyou to Moby for once again making the trek from Sydney to participate so was awesome to help you get a win.
Also would like to thank Scott McCulloch coming down from Warwick at the last minute to help his brothers team out numbers wise. We all appreciated your efforts and you were really fast too by the time you had to leave. Also thanks to Dan in paying for him to get here and race aswell, i hope you guys got to enjoy some time racing together
Thanks to Ben Splint for making the trek from Ipswich too, sorry you ended up being put on another team at the last minute, but you stuck it out to the end which was awesome to see
Thanks also to Lee who also joined us last minute to help with numbers, considering it was his first racemeet he did a stellar job.
Also my other teammate Gumtree, was great to see you again and hopefully we can catch up again soon.
Also to all the others that came yesterday and made it a pretty cool race, just disspointing that it only ended up being 4 teams ontrack in the end but for what was our only planned enduro for this year. And at this stage that may have been our last Enduro at NBS or that i organise atleast. I will see how the remaining sprint rounds pan out for this year before i make any final decisions and Sprint rounds are less stressful to organise.
